Introducing…Inside the world of Flirt and Flutter

Ottawa Boudoir Photographer turns Toronto Boudoir Photographer

But wait…there’s more!

Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes

2013 saw a lot of changes and growing pains for Flirt and Flutter, and we were so incredibly busy we didn’t take the time to write about it. Flirt and Flutter Owner and lead photographer (myself, Raven Ouellette) moved from Ottawa to Toronto, but not without selecting the hottest, most talented and incredible contract photographers to keep up the amazing photo shoots in Ottawa in my absence. I am so delighted that Liubov, Josephine and Michelle will be able to make the time to photograph all your beautiful milestones when I am not able to…such a stress relief that you my Flutterbunnies are in such good hands!

The other major change that happened in 2013 (which lead to a subsequent delay in booking new photo-shoots in Toronto) I’m pregnant…very pregnant in fact, due any day now. So as I had anticipated on a big launch of Flirt and Flutter Toronto Boudoir Photography in Spring 2013…looks like it will be Spring 2014 instead…but also VERY Exciting!

ANOTHER new addition to Flirt and Flutter 2014 will be the introductions of services for fellow small business owners including website development, marketing and sales assistance, graphic design, etc. We have already begun developing websites and strategic plans for several business owners in both Ottawa and Toronto!

Stay tuned for more to come!

Tор 10 Best Rеаѕоnѕ tо Hаvе Bоudоіr Phоtоgrарhѕ Tаkеn

Boudoir Photography is rapidly becoming one of the most popular genres of photography and increasingly most widespread forms of personal expression amongst for very good reasons. At Flirt and Flutter we have compiled the Tор 10 Best Rеаѕоnѕ tо Hаvе Bоudоіr Phоtоgrарhѕ Tаkеn:

10. To Celebrate a Milestone!

Getting Married? Divorced? An anniversary or birthday coming up? Just enter or leave a relationship? Having a baby? Hit an education career, health or fitness goal? Well then you NEED to do something equally monumental to honor the occasion!

9. Shock and Delight Your Friends! (Turn them green with envy)

Your Ladies will see the boudoir photos of you looking incredible and will be insanely jealous! Not only will they book their own session – better yet, they will immediately book a boudoir party after they see how it has changed the way you look and feel

8. Transform yourself into a Supermodel within an hour!

Ever wonder how the women in magazines or on the silver screen always look so AMAZING?!!! They have a team of professionals dedicated just to them! From the moment you step into a Flirt and Flutter Ottawa boudoir photography or Toronto boudoir photography studio you are pampered, cared for, coached, primed, polished, styled and transformed into your most perfect you! Every woman should have a set of photos where they express all the beauty and sensuality they have inside, where they look exactly how they have always wanted to look. Look gorgeous and feel tremendously giddy inside!

7. Shopping for and selecting the Wardrobe is half the fun!

Putting together your favorite outfits and preparing for the shoot is a blast! What better reason to go shopping for a new outfit, costume or lingerie? Sneaking off with your partner’s work uniform or favorite team jersey, selecting your favorite jewelry or props, pouring over Google images for your favorite sample ideas and sending them off to your photographer is so much fun!

6. You won’t be able to pick their jaw off the ground!

You’ve turned your friends green with envy…now your partner, well let’s just say speechless won’t begin to describe it. Seeing the woman they love dolled up glamorously will bring them to their knees…what could be better than that? Rather than getting your special someone a new shirt…why not a sexy photo of you wearing nothing but their favorite shirt…and maybe some heels!

5. Reconnect with the most intimate part of yourself

Life Happens…school, job, partner, family, friends, kids…you might lose yourself in the shuffle. It’s EASY to forget about your sexy, sensual side- what makes you a WOMAN. Rediscover your inner fire!

4. Its about bringing out every bit of your inner beauty…not getting naked

There are few things more powerful to a woman than feeling sexy. A boudoir shoot believe it or not is probably one of the easiest, quickest and most fun ways to do that. Bring out that little black dress that looks so hot on you but you never get a chance to wear, those jeans and your favorite t-shirt that hug your curves just right…and just in case you’re brave enough (believe me you will shock yourself how comfortable you’ll get in an hour)-bring a few sets of lingerie-whatever makes you feel fun, flirty, and sexy!

3. Have a unique, exciting, fun and deep afternoon or night with your girlies or partner!

You don’t have to do it Alone! Whether or not they’re as ready to take the plunge as you are, you’re welcome to bring along will make you feel most comforted and supported! They’ll have a comfy place to chill out and watch, perhaps share in the delicious treats an d drinks provided with some packages, or we can put them to work as assistant stylists or photography grips fanning your hair or holding a reflector.

2. Get the A-List Celebrity Treatment

We work with the most talented Ottawa and Toronto makeup artists, hair stylists and nail artists to bring your sexiness to magazine-worthy levels. Then our Ottawa Photographers and Toronto Photographer Raven Ouellette take it to the next level not only styling you and coaching your posing and expressions, but also with polishing the images adding any necessary nips, tucks, airbrushing and photo optimization. We work in all-female environment so you ha an atmosphere of the utmost comfort and relaxation (not to mention a fun and carefree mood)

2. Kick-Start a Personal Transformation in a Dramatic Way

Pump up the drama in a positive way! Create dramatic long lasting changes in your life- it all starts with you! Although I am a Toronto Photographer my background is in Psychology, I have worked with a lot of women who have felt like they are stuck in a rut, overworked, focused so much on their careers, and/or caring for their family and friends somewhere along the way they lost themselves. I have found no greater more effective, immediate and long lasting confidence boost than a boudoir shoot!

Those are all the perfect reasons to venture out of your comfort zone, do something truly unique and have a Super SEXY, FUN, WILD and CRAZY boudoir session alone, with your partner or best yet- get turned into a Goddess or Vixen with all your Ladies with a Girls Night In Burlesque Boudoir Party!

Our Schedule fills up pretty fast so CONTACT US now to book your session!

Sneak Peek for Hector, Lency, Stephane & Torence

Not the greatest weather we’ve been having, but luckily we got a sunny break this past Sunday for a family photo shoot in Orleans. This lovely family welcomed me into their home to take their photos as they (and many families out there) don’t really have many family photographs. So we shoot some inside and some  outside and even though in this particular one it was fairly bright I actually like how it turned out. Hope you do too. Enjoy! :)

06Feb

Sneak Peek for Kim, Michel, Ryan & baby Nathan

The first February weekend brought about my first photo shoot of this year, which was really exciting. And not only because it was the first of the year, but also because it involved an adorable baby (see photo) named Nathan. His older brother, Ryan, was also a natural little model. I must say, he was the first child that didn`t hide behind mom`s or dad`s legs or who didn`t run away when I pulled out my camera. So a couple of firsts there. Overall, the shoot went really really well as you can see by this relaxing pose. :) Enjoy!

Ottawa Photographers Asked: “Who Wouldn’t Want to Trash a Dress?!!!”

This past weekend Ottawa Photographers Jane and I (Raven) headed over to Mambo to check out another fantastic local Ottawa Photographer Richard Tardiff! As with any industry, it is easy to fall into the trap of competitiveness…but not with Richard! He just has such a huge heart and so much talent!  And he, like me knows there is room for everyone- we all have our niche! Anyways, he developed a photo shoot with the assistance of Mambo (please book your dinner there now- delicious nachos and sangria- yum yum yum!) and we were fortunate enough to join him for such a super fun time! I got to meet an amazingly gifted hair stylist and make up artist Anica from Modmop who created totally gorgeous and wild hairstyles, and ogled the beautiful jewelry of True Bijoux! Richard, along with his assistants and Claira (Kinki/Mambo’s head of PR) dressed and styled three stunning, crazy and divalicious models in a few different scenes including one with a groom and a gorgeous car from 1932, and fighting over an adorable waiter! What a Wonderful way to wrap up Pride!

Good Morning Flutterbunnies!

We hope you had a stellar weekend, we know we did! As busy little worker bees (aka Ottawa Photographers Raven, Kishia and Liubov of Flirt and Flutter Photography) we had several really great shoots over the very beautiful and mild weekend! We began with a fantastic bachlorette boudoir party with a very lovely April!
What an exciting, crazy and fun loving group of gorgeous ladies!

So Happy for April! Thank You So Much for the Opportunity!

Our next totally fantastic clients were Marlene and the absolutely adorable Mirko! Only a few months old, this little bundle of joy is already a tiny heart breaker! Our favorite newborn photography session of 2013, the ladies of Flirt and Flutter  had so much fun posing the little guy and snapping shots of his endless smiles!

Finally we had a blast using playful props, capturing the love and connection of Keith and Crystal as they anxiously await their little bundle of joy Kendra!

06Nov

Sneak Peek for Sherry, Steve & Chris

It might have been cold last weekend for an outdoor photo shoot, yet this bunch of young people sure knew how to keep laughing. This photo is of the three  happy siblings and their significant others are standing to the side making fun of them. How great is that?! :D You can tell by the genuine smiles. I must say I had a lot of fun meeting all of them and hanging out in Strathcona Park.

22Oct

Sneak Peek for Tiffany & Tom

The forecast for this past weekend was rain, rain and some more rain, but for this lovely couple the rain held off. Actually, it didn’t rain at all the whole weekend. Lucky for us we were able to capture some sweet moments between these two lovebirds. The location/theme was inspired by the most romantic city where the engagement took place – Paris! :)

21Oct

Sneak Peek for Jane & Clark

And one more sneak peek from last weekend`s photoshoot. At that time we actually had a pretty nice weather and a cooperative 3-year old, so it went really well. :) This session took place along the Rideau canal. We started off at the foot bridge and walked along the bike path that had lots of colourful leaves to throw around. All in all it was a lot of fun!

19Oct

Sneak Peek for Stephanie and Chris

Last Saturday was a relatively nice day for October considering Ottawa is the coldest capital in the world. A little cooler in the afternoon for this session, but these active boys sure kept warm by running around. This one was taken right at the beginning, so I think they sat for a whole 3 seconds before they were off again. :) All in all, cute little family and adorable matching sweaters.

Health, Safety and Security Tips

Hi There Everyone, Professional Photographer and owner of Flirt and Flutter Photography) Raven Ouellette here, and while I try to keep the blog upbeat I couldn’t help but comment on the tragic local photography tragedy that happened just around the corner from Ottawa: in Dorwin Falls in Rawdon, about an hour north of Montréal. Montréal Photographer Louis Pagakis was providing young and beautiful new bride Maria Pantazopoulos with a newer but incredibly popular “Trash the Dress” Post- Wedding Photography Photo Shoot when the water soaking her dress began creating so much weight she was dragged under the water, so quickly and heavily that Louis Pagakis  could not save her. My heart goes out to the families of everyone involved. I am deeply saddened to see what should have been an additional exciting and happy day on top of a woman’s most special day turned into a senseless death.

Trash the Dress (apparently also known as “Rock the Frock”) , for those of you who don’t know, is meant to be playful spin on the traditional wedding photos involving brides and grooms simply standing together. It is an opportunity for a bride to wear her dress for a second time, now with the focus 100% on her, and where she is able to have fun without worrying about ruining her dress…because that is exactly the point. Wedding Dresses are incredibly expensive and while it is a beautiful and touching gesture to offer your dress to your daughter or daughter in law, likely she will want her own special dress made exclusively for or chosen by her. SO why allow your dress to sit in a box on a shelf for years when you canimmoratlize your dress, expressing your personality and having some post-wedding stress relief?

The most common shot you will see in “Trash the Dress” Photo Shoots are the brides playing in or floating on water. But here is the easiest way to avoid dangerous locations or situations: BE CREATIVE when it comes to Trash the Dress photo shoots! They don’t necessarily need to involve floating in or playing in water at all! Mess around in the mud and sand, climb some trees, buy some 80s day glow neon paint, go to a farm/amusement park/junk yard, have a food fight, run around in the rain, tear it apart with scissors, contact the local graffiti artists, heck here is your chance for the bride drink a glass or two of red wine in her dress…while someone else pours it all over her!

For a quick video (sorry for the low quality of sound, and lack of styling of yours truly…I found it more prudent to get this out quickly):

Little Known Ways to 365

Ok so I DEFINITELY suck at this whole blogging everyday stuff… but I am working hard at catching up on my 365. I will be working on editing and capturing 365 images of myself this year hopefully on a daily basis, and they will get more creative and interesting as the months go by I promise.

There has been a lot going on in my life this year already and we are barely into the second quarter-eeep!

I have recently begun my touring of the US beginning with my first ever trip to California!!! I have only ever been to Florida (Disney World 2x); New York state (Watertown) and Massachusetts (Salem) so this was exciting.

I headed over to San Francisco, did a photo shoot, and did a lot of touring…including the infamous Alcatraz! These photos might not be the most exciting in an artistic sense but it was hard as I wasn’t feeling the greatest it was packed and I was carrying a bunch of stuff…but I do highly recommend you go it is a lot of fun! They have a night tour as well I totally wish I had gone to that. Dr. Luke was tempted in trying to hide in a cell and stay overnight. We instead headed back to the hotel ( I do not recommend the Majestic by the way) and watched “Escape from Alcatraz” also not really recommended- listening to the story at Alcatraz WAY BETTER…why do I hate almost all Clint Eastwood movies?

Besides Alcatraz I went to Pier 39 for some shopping delicious veggie burger and to photograph the beautiful sea lions hanging out there :) and I already knew the differences between Sea Lions and Seals thanks to my trip to the West Edmonton mall ;)

I also promise the 365 photos will get better as I will begin capturing them myself. Having others take the photos is a bit of a cheat and also creates more work for me in Photoshop- Not that I have been doing my best work either, as I am playing catch up right now.

I know I’m also cheating adding photos of not only myself but my love…however we so rarely take photos together and have an entire trip to Dublin without a single photo of us together there that I make an effort for that too.

Back to San Francisco. Ok so in addition to Alcatraz and Pier 39 we played in the Exploratorium in Presidio Park, next to the Palace of Fine Arts where I climbed the columns- I have yet to visit Rome but it’s so gorgeous you feel like you’re there.

As James Brown said “take it to the bridge” and so we did. Taking a walk in the foggy San Fran, checking out the gorgeous and architecturally stunning Golden Gate Bridge. SO exciting!

The last bit of the trip was in Toronto where we came for our second time attending a Kevin Smith Q & A. So much fun. One of my other New Years resolutions was not only the 365 but to loose 15 pounds and 2% body fat. One of the ways I am achieving that is by doing sugar-restrictions. From January 2nd-February 1st (30 DAYS) I was sugar free!!! The ONLY sugar I had was in fruit and the occasional slice of pizza (4x).

My biggest and only addictions are: cheese, chocolate, Dr. Pepper and cupcakes. I was free of 3/4 for 30 days, including the entire San Francisco trip. I am allowing myself 5 days of it before I start another 3 weeks sugar free. This time: wheat free as well- Oh My!!!

Stay tuned for more photos and more exciting announcements!!! BIIIIIIIG stuff happening this year!

Congratulations to Ciara and Aldrin!

Flirt and Flutter Photography was lucky enough to share the most important and special day with Ciara and Aldrin Alan and all of their crazy, wild and totally fun family and friends!
We were so honored to have the opportunity to capture all of the love and warmth this group shares. Emotions were HIGH! The speeches were beautiful, and although I have only met with the couple a few times I definitely felt a part of the family…even shed a tear here and there. I was also lucky to be joined by two incredibly talented photographers: my intern-turned-assistant Jane, and intern-turned business partner (Vixen Mayhem’s exclusive photographer) Josephine!
Thank you so much to Ciara and Aldrin for including us and giving us such a wonderful opportunity, to your friends and family for being so gorgeous and entertaining, and to the lovely and amazing assistants who made this my absolute favorite Wedding Ever!

Interview with an Intern Part Three

I thought we would get to know Josephine better by doing a little Q & A, as we did with Stephanie and Jane-getting to know her perspective on Photography. So Josephine, first off let me welcome you to Flirt and Flutter Photography- we are so excited to have you on board!

Let’s get a bit of background- I believe you’re a townie like me…what was your favorite part about growing up in Ottawa?

Yep.  You are right.  I am an O-towner like you.  I guess I love this city for so many reasons, hence why I never left.  My favourite part of growing up in Ottawa?  That’s a tough one.  I’ve moved 22 times in my life, most all in Ottawa so I guess it is hard to pin point a favourite part.  I now live in the South end of Ottawa but my heart and sense of comfort are definitely in the West end.  I love Ottawa for many reasons that others are drawn to this beautiful city – it’s a somewhat big city with a small town feel and lots of outdoor stuff to do.  Some of my favourite parts are hiking in the Gatineau hills, biking along the parkway, getting involved in the community, and partaking in the many festivals all summer long.

Where has been your favorite place to shoot in Ottawa thus far?

It’s a toss-up between the Gatineau Park, Mooney’s bay region, and the bike paths along the Kanata greenbelt and the parkway.  I recently took a course that made me realize that you don’t need an amazing background to take good photos.  Sometimes the best pictures are taken in the most inconspicuous locations.  Either way I am looking forward to finding new favourite spots with Flirt and Flutter.

When did you begin your journey in photography? What is your background in photography? Did you go to school for photography or have you had experience with clients?

My journey began in high school when my parents bought a 35 mm canon.  I was always into art and taking photos seemed like a natural extension.  I also have a passion for travel, usually off the beaten path types of trips.  I love learning about different parts of the world and other cultures.  I like to capture those experiences in my photos.  In essence, I look at my photos often to remember those times – good or bad – that enriched my life.  I think that’s why so many are drawn to taking photographs.  I’ve taken several courses in photography and I am constantly learning and trying to improve my skills.  I recently started to take photography to a professional level with Flirt and Flutter, so my experience with clients has been limited; although, I have several years of experience in dealing with the clients in other professional aspects.   I’m a pretty easy going and open person … just trying to make the photography experience fun for everyone.

What made you decide to get into Photography? What is your favorite part of Photography?

As mentioned earlier, photography kind of found me when my parents bought a 35 mm camera.  Over the years I’ve really started to develop and my friends and family were always complimenting me in my photographs.  I decided I wanted to take photography more seriously and perhaps transition to this full-time professionally.  I realized that I need a constant creative outlet in my life and photography fulfills this need in so many ways.  My favourite part of Photography is how instantaneous it is.  In the click of a button you have art!  I also like how it’s not just simply a click of a button but there is some science to it.  You need to consider many elements and a good shot is one that is pre-planned and well positioned.  You have to consider not only the subject, the site, the background but also the technical aspects of the camera’s function like exposure, depth of field, lighting, etc.  When you think of it I guess it is a lot more complicated than clicking the button but when they all function beautifully its very gratifying!

Who are your favorite photographers and what do you like about their work?

There are 5 types of photographs I like best: landscapes, events and people in action, funny/silliness, fine art, and animals.  I like all kinds but these I like best.  I like MANY photographers each in different ways.  They all inspire me.  I aspire to one day be on someone’s short list too J

LANDSCAPES:

Ansel Adams – who doesn’t like his work?  It’s amazing how powerful a black and white landscape image can be.  His images are so calming yet with such a deep impact.  www.anseladams.com

Maciej Duczynski – love his landscapes and depth of field www.lonelywolf.pl

Adam Burton – gorgeous coloured landscapes and depth of field.  www.adamburtonphotography.com

EVENTS AND PEOPLE:

Steve McCurry – I love how he can express emotion so well in photographs.  You really get the sense of what was happening.  His images come to life as if they were in 3D!  You’ll remember him by his famous Afghan Girl published in the National Geographic magazine … And well I love to travel and I am inspired to see the places he’s been.  www.stevemccurry.com

Lara Jade – more of a fashion photographer but love the portraits and the subjects intense looks.  www.larajade.co.uk

Phil Borges – amazing social documentary.  Great lighting and emotion.  www.philborges.com

Sean Kennedy Santos – love the fashion photography, urban, glamorous feel to his pictures.  www.sksantos.net

Kurt Stalleart – love his pictures of people and his ability to capture emotion, moment in time, tragedy, struggles and triumph.  www.kurtstallaert.be

FUNNY NONSENSE and ARTISTIC EXPRESSION:

Matt Stuart – because he’s just too funny!! www.mattstuart.com

Koen Demuynck – interesting post production work and use of light    www.koendemuynck.com

Denis Olivier – love the simplicity of his images and integration of form and lines.  www.denisolivier.com

Michael Ezra – interesting artistic expression of nude photography.  www.michaelezra.com

Edward Weston – beautiful black and white images of form, texture and nudes.  www.edward-weston.com

ANIMALS:

Tim Flach – I love his use of form, colour, and texture … and I love animals and he’s expressed them in a unique way    www.timflach.com

Nick Brandt – love, love, love his B&W wildlife pics.  He’s really created the mood and emotion in his pics.  www.nickbrandt.com

Gregory Colbert – love how his incorporated people with his images of animals.  Even the scariest creature appears to be harmless and cudily J  www.ashesandsnow.org

John Hyde – amazing colour and capture of wildlife images www.wildthingsphotography.com

… As you can see I love photography a great deal and have many photographers that I admire.

How would you describe your artistic style?

I would say my artistic style is candid photos and action.  I like to take photos of people capturing a glimpse of what they are doing without direct eye contact into the camera.  I would like to play with light a bit more and incorporate it into the mood of the photographs.  I also love animals and landscapes.  It’s just so uncomplicated – that is animals and nature.  If I can combine all three – animals, nature, and people – that’s my favourite!

If you could give clients one piece of advice what would it be?

Relax, have fun, and enjoy the moment.  Best pictures are captured in a candid manner.  Best smiles are when we aren’t trying and come from the gut.  We’ll have a good time during the shoot and you’ll remember how much fun it was when you see the expression on your face.

When it comes to photography what are your goals? What do you see in your future?

My goals are to constantly learn and develop no matter where I am at in my photography. In the long term, I’d love to be one of those photographers featured in National Geographic or have my own book printed … but one day at a time.  Let’s first start by practicing more and more … the rest will just come with time.

One of my short term goals is to create a documentary series on the Foundations of a Community.  I am hoping to capture the meaning of a community and how we can build a strong and welcoming community in our neighbourhoods.  I am hoping to approach a series of community centers that will show case my work and the proceeds will go to a worthy cause needed in that community.  More details will follow as this project develops.

Well we are all very excited to see how your work progresses over the next year! Flutterbunnies you should definitely be checking back here on the regular to get the behind the scenes look at the Photography business here in Ottawa!

Interview with an Intern Part Two

Hey there Flutterbunnies, Raven here with a closer look with our new intern Jane, who just finished her first full day of Flirt and Flutter Studio Boudoir Photo
Shoots this weekend! So Psyched! I thought we would get to know Jane better by doing a little Q & A, photos coming soon!

So Jane, first off let me welcome you to Flirt and Flutter Photography- we are so excited to have you on board!

Thanks, Raven! I’m excited to be here too.

Let’s get a bit of background- similarly to Stephanie, you’re not from Ottawa-where did you grow up and what made you move to Ottawa?

I grew up in Slovakia, moved to Canada when I was 13 with my family, and have called Mississauga my home base for the past 11 years. And I knew Ottawa was a great city because I did a co-op here while I was still in school, so I wasn’t hesitant to move here at all. The primary reason for the move was my husband who’s doing his Master’s at Carleton. And I knew I could take photography courses at Algonquin, which made the move even more exciting.

Where has been your favorite place to shoot in Ottawa thus far?

I’d have to say the downtown area, which is where I live, so I get to walk around a lot and explore.

When did you begin your journey in photography? What is your background in photography? Did you go to school for photography or have you had experience with clients?

My journey began when I was about 12. I joined a photography club back in my hometown in Slovakia and got to play around in the darkroom. And then I continued with film photography and working in the darkroom in high school. I was fortunate enough to go to a high school that had a photography class starting in Gr. 10 and I loved it. In fact, I was the only student in my Gr. 12 photography class (I guess my peers didn’t feel the same way about taking pictures as me haha), but I enjoyed it a LOT. And when I was in the darkroom I didn’t really like digital photography at all, but I did switch in University. So I have shot a lot, including for my high school yearbook, just haven’t worked with clients that much yet.

What made you decide to get into Photography? What is your favorite part of Photography?

I’m not exactly sure. My dad showed me a book of black-and-white photographs when I was younger, so maybe that triggered something. I LOVE black-and-white photography. My favourite part is capturing an image that says something either about a person or place or shows an emotion, basically an image that’s meaningful.

Who are your favorite photographers and what do you like about their work?

Hmm…hard to pick just one, but one of my all-time favourites is Ansel Adams. His work is exceptional. He photographed a lot of landscapes and you can see the movement in his pictures. And his lighting is great too, I mean it takes skill and a lot of patience sometimes to capture what he’s captured throughout his life.

How would you describe your artistic style?

I don’t really like describing my style because I feel that puts me in a box and I don’t like to limit myself like that. I’m really open to different styles and it depends on the situation or the subject that I’m photographing. I just like taking photos when people aren’t necessarily paying attention to me and just doing whatever they’re doing. That way I can catch them in their natural state and environment.

If you could give clients one piece of advice what would it be?

Well, my answer would be related to the previous one. I would just remind them to be themselves and almost pretend I’m not even there. I know that may be hard, but if let’s say it’s a family shoot then parents can interact with their children and it will look more natural. And I would tell kids to just go play and have fun. :)

When it comes to photography what are your goals? What do you see in your future?

My long-term goal would be to become a professional photographer, have my own business, and perhaps get some pictures published or displayed. That’d be amazing. But overall I’m just happy to be taking photos and in the short-run I’d like to get more into family/children and couples photoshoots.

Well we are all very excited to see how your work progresses over the next year! Flutterbunnies you should definitely be checking back here on the regular to get the behind the scenes look at the Photography business here in Ottawa!

Thanks, Raven! And I look forward to doing more shoots with you.
